The new cases pushed the overall tally to 4,90,401 lakh as the number of fatalities touched 15,301, as per the government data. 407 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the recovery rate has improved to 58.24 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry figures, with 2,85,637 patients recovering.                                                             COVID-19 DRUG UPDATES Now, a COVID-19 drug is just formed by Hyderabad drugmaker Hetero, and get approved to launch their vaccines in some very risky states. Hyderabad-based drugmaker Hetero, which has approval to manufacture and market the generic version of the experimental COVID-19 drug Remdesivir, has sent 20,000 vials to five states including Maharashtra and Delhi - the two worst affected states in the country. Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are the other two states that will receive the first batch of the drug which is being marketed under the brand name COVIFOR in India. Telangana's capital Hyderabad, where the drugmaker is based, will also receive the first consignment. Hetero said a 100-milligram vial of the drug will cost  Rs 5,400 . Army Colonel, 2 jawans killed in violent face-off with Chinese troops in Ladakh  A Colonel-rank officer and two soldiers of the Indian Army were killed in a "violent face-off" with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley area of Ladakh on Monday night. The officer was commanding an infantry battalion of the Army. The face-off took place during efforts to de-escalate the prevailing tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Massive Fire At Mumbai's Iconic Crawford Market Doused  Mumbai:   A massive fire which started around 6:15 pm at Mumbai's iconic Crawford Market has destroyed several shops inside the heritage building, fire officials said. The fire broke out in the north-end wing of the British-era structure and it took three hours to bring the situation under control, the officials said. Almost a dozen big and small stalls, with ground and mezzanine floors, have been destroyed in the fire, which was doused around 9 PM. The shops inside the market were shut due to the coronavirus crisis when the blaze erupted. A call was received around 6:15 pm and fire fighters reached the spot within three minutes, Mumbai's fire officials said.
